Ten Different Depictions of Horses in Art

Majestic and elegant, horses have been a popular muse for artists throughout history. Legendary war horses have been painted along with their riders when Military and War were trending subjects in the art world. In Modern and Contemporary Art though their representation has reduced considerably except perhaps to show horse racing as a sport. Once they became outdated as modes of transportation, their importance also slowly died out.

Here’s a look at horses made at different times and across different mediums.
